The 2017 Chinese Optical Society Academic Conference (COSAC 2017) mainly organized by C-UFO was held on Aug 10-13, 2017, in Changchun. More than 1,300 students from scientific research institutes, optical institutions and young students in China attended the conference. The conference was hosted by the China Optical Society, the Ministry of Information Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Information and Electronic Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; organized by the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronics, Jilin University; co-organized by Changchun Institute of Technology Light: Science & Applications, Changchun University of Science and Technology, South China Normal University, Guangdong micro-nano photon functional materials and devices key laboratory.

The meeting was divided into 18 sub-venues, including 171 invited reports, 379 oral reports and 218 posting reports. In addition, more than 30 manufacturers or companies participated in the photoelectric exhibition, which attracted a lot of representatives for visit and exchanging opinions. Prof. Hong-Bo Sun and other nine reserachers were selected as COS Fellow for their signifciant contributions to the opical studies in China.
