Dr. Yi-Yang Sun from Rensselaer visited C-UFO

On July 8th, 2016, Dr. Yi-Yang Sun from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, United States of America, visited C-UFO. He gave a public talk on "Defects in Renewable Energy Materials" . Dr. Xian-Bin Li hosted the talk.



    Dr. Yi-Yang Sun received his Bachelor's degree from Department of Materials Science of Jilin University in 1996. He obtained the Master‘s degree from Xiamen University in 1999. In 2004, he received his Ph. D. in Physics from National University of Singapore. Since 2010, he became a research assistant professor and research scientist of Department of Physics of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His research area is properties analysis and design of new functional material by first-principles calculation. He has published 70 papers with more than 1200 citations, including 19 high-impact journals, for example, Phys. Rev. Lett., JACS, Nano Lett. and Adv. Mater. He first proposed chalcogenide perovskites for solar battery.
