The 2016 MRS Falling Meeting on materials research held in Boston from November 27th to December 2nd, 2016. Four students including Da Yin, Chao Lv, Ming Xu and Xuan-Yu Zhang attended this meeting. Da Yin, Ming Xu and Xuan-Yu Zhang gave presentations at the meeting. This meeting focus on the latest research of materials, which includes 9 topical clusters: Broader Impact (BI), Biomaterials and Soft Materials (BM), Electrochemistry (EC), Electronics, Magnetics and Photonics (EM), Energy and Sustainability (ES), Mechanical Behavior and Failure Mechanisms of Materials (MB), Nanomaterials (NM), Processing and Manufacturing (PM) and Theory, Characterization and Modeling (TC). The MRS Fall Meeting attracts nearly 6,000 attendees.

The Materials Research Society (MRS) was established in 1973 by a visionary group of scientists who shared the belief that their professional interests were broader in scope than existing single-discipline societies and that a new interdisciplinary organization was needed. Today MRS is a growing, vibrant member-driven organization of over 16,000 materials researchers, which becomes very important conference in the field of materials in the world.
