The 9th International symposium on photonics and optoelectronics, (SOPO) was hold in Xi’an from Aug. 26 to Aug. 28, 2016. Two PhD students: Zhen-Nan Tian and Qian-Kun Li attend the conference. PhD. student Zhen-Nan Tian gave a talk about Manufacturing of vortex light generator by Femtosecond laser direct writing technology. Qian-Kun Li gave a talk about sapphire-based UV micro-optics elements. All of them benefit a lot from the discussions and talks given by the famous physicists, such as Tao Chu, Aziz Rahman, Yunfeng Xiao and Zhiping Zhou.

    SOPO is an annual conference in China since 2009. It was held in Wuhan, Chengdu, Xi'an, Shanghai and Beijing from 2009 to 2015. In 2016, SOPO was held from August 26 to 28, 2016 in Xi'an, China. This Conference cover issues on Photonics and Optoelectronics.
