Dr. Zuankai Wang from University of Hong Kong visited C-UFO

On 23rd December, Dr. Zuankai Wang from University of Hong Kong came to C-UFO. He also gave a public talk named "Bio-inspired Engineering: Fundamentals and multifunctional applications". Prof. Qi-Dai Chen hosted the talk.

 

    Dr. Zuankai Wang received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering at Jilin University in 2000 and master degree in microelectronics at Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2003. He earned his Ph. D. degree in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008. After one year post-doctoral training in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University, he joined the Department of Mechanical an Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong as an assistant professor in October 2009 and became an associate professor since July 2014. Dr. Wang won the Chinese Government Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad Award in 2007, Best Paper Award in the Second and Third International Symposium on Optofluidics (2012, 2013), Materials Research Society Graduate Student Silver Award in the 2007 Fall Meeting. The student he supervised has a number of awards including the 2015 Materials Research Society Graduate Student Silver Award and 2015 Hong Kong Young Scientist Award.
